Drug Production

Drug Production

Drug Production is to manufacture, synthesize, or to alter a narcotic chemically or physically. This can also mean the cultivation of a banned or restricted substance beyond legally permitted methods or numbers. For example, the cultivation of cannabis is permitted by law with a medical license. However, if one exceeds their plant count numbers then they could be charged with a Drug Production offence.

Jail time for drug offences largely depends on the quantity involved or substance involved. A licensed cannabis cultivator that is a handful of plants over is looking at a less serious sentence that would not involve jail, assuming it is the first offence. An unlicensed grower, for example, running an underground “grow-op” could face years in jail. Further, producing drugs based on chemical substances, such as ‘meth’, present higher dangers to the community and therefore are treated harsher.

I am here to help my clients through every legal issue they face. We always go to bat for our clients to ensure their rights were not violated by police during the arrest or investigations. Focusing on how police themselves may have broken the law in effecting an arrest is how we win cases at East Law and have charges “thrown out”.

A free consultation is the best way to start. We will sit down, review your file, talk over the likely outcomes, options, and the best course forward to getting you through the charges.
